How To Look Great In Pictures

How to look great in Pictures

Hey Beauties,

We all have those friends who are ridiculously photogenic. How do they always look so good in pictures? Is it a god given gift? While most of us aren’t born with the talent of looking fabulous in every picture, there are tips to help you look like you were.

Appear Less Posed: Try not to focus so much on looking perfect in a photo. Think about something else when you’re taking a picture, you’ll appear less rigid. You can also interact with someone, or lean against something and never keep your hands at your sides, this will make you look robotic.

Fake Flawless Skin: The right foundation and powder are always helpful but the right light will make your skin look flawless. Always try to get as much light on your face as possible. If you’re indoors, take pictures near a window. Use flash indoors or outdoors, the light will bounce off your skin.

Avoid The Dreaded Double Chin: It’s all about the angle. Pay attention to where the camera is positioned. If the lense is below your eye level, you may appear to have a double chin. Try to angle to camera lense above eye level. This will make your face appear thinner. Also project your chin out a little further than you normally would.

Keep Your Eyes Open: So many great pictures have been ruined because half the people in them have their eyes closed. Close your eyes before a picture and have the photographer count to three, then open your eyes right before they take the picture. If you’re outside, try to avoid taking a picture where you’re facing directly into the sunlight.

Minimize Unfavorable Features: Most people have asymmetrical features, where one eye is slightly bigger than the other or one ear is bigger than the other. Don’t directly face the camera, turn your head to the right or the left just a little. That way facial asymmetry won’t be noticeable.

Smile: Make sure your smile is natural. Don’t say “cheese” before a picture, it creates an artificial smile. Try to think of something funny or something that makes you happy to create a genuine smile. If you are self conscious about your smile, try practicing in the mirror the day before. Also make sure you practice good oral hygiene so your teeth will look great in every photo.

Prevent Red Eye: Avoid red eye by affixing your eyes on the nearest lamp or light source right before taking the picture. When you focus on something bright, your pupils shrink, reducing the potential for red eye.

Get A Good Night’s Sleep: The day before you get your picture taken, make sure you get a good night of sleep. Lack of sleep will make you look tired and older in pictures. Make sure you’re not stressed out either, it will show in pictures.

Feel Confident: Be confident in yourself! If you aren’t happy with the way you look, it will show in pictures. A fake smile is never flattering on a person. Just be yourself and let your mood take over your body.

You don’t have to look perfect to take a great picture. If you use these helpful tips, you have no reason to be intimidated by the camera.
