3 star hotels in Chennai replete with cozy amenities

Savour authentic Chinese at these restaurants in Chennai

It’s a house converted into restaurant with seating arranged on different rooms, located on Sardar Patel road, a small lane next to GRT Jewelers. One of the best restaurants in Chennai with simple seating made of wooden tables & chairs.

The place is simple and the ambience gives a “feel at home” experience. PGB has a classic mess like appearance and true to its name has a simplistic village like decor.

Really healthy, tasty, home cooked food. What more can you ask for? Gone are the days when people used to complain about forgetting the traditional millets. Everything here is made of millets and they are extremely healthy. The idea by itself is commendable at a time when the city is infested with unhygienic biryani shops and usage of polished rice is prominent. If you want to try something different and healthy this place is for you.

Definitely recommended for healthier & tasty meal at moderate price.

Salt

Casual Dining – Cost for 2: Rs. 1000

Salt is a fine restaurant to dine with friends. First thing that strikes you is the spacious and well laid out ambience. Ambience gives a Classy and Modern-ish Feel. The range of dishes is impressive. Salt acts as a perfect place where one can enjoy both north and south Indian dishes. Food items here are named quirky.

A fine dining restaurant at a mall has become the new trend, and this is one such set up. Their dim lighted ambience and art is interesting, the food they serve is quite tasty.

They have got sassy-looking kebabs and mouthwatering tandoor recipes. Try their Bento Box on weekdays. The presentation of the box is as good as the Japanese Bento Boxes. Must try are galouti kebab, Butter Chicken, grill fish and ilaneer Payasam.

Kolapasi Takeaway

Quick Bites – Cost for 2: Rs. 400

For some, the name kolapasi of this place sounds a bit funny. Its literal meaning is dying from hunger but their food is a serious business. It’s a neatly maintained take away joint. If you are by passing this place with a dying hungry stomach, get in here for instant food.

They have a daily menu which is updated on their website and order can be placed online or through phone. When you order first time, you receive a small greeting stating “thanks for choosing kolapasi” and a Tamil magazine for free.

As the name, the satisfaction you experience after it feeds your hunger is priceless. Good quality food and Great service together is what makes this restaurant a highly successful one. Kolapasi takeaway scores best in delivery time and packaging.

Jamavar – The Leela Palace

Fine Dining – Cost for 2: Rs. 3000

The ambience is what strikes you first as soon as you enter the Jamavar. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed with soft music playing in the background makes it one the best South Indian restaurant in Chennai. The chandeliers and the setting add to the effect!

The eating experience begins with homemade aachars that come to your table, along with some famous South Indian fries. Don’t gorge on them as the food here is really good.  Jamavar has different tandoor for vegetarians. Going South Indian? Try the lacy Aapams. You get it both in vegetarian and non-vegetarian avatars. Nutty Kulfi is an absolute winner
.
The quality of the meats is phenomenal. The pricing might turn some people off but if you haven’t been to this establishment, it is a MUST VISIT. Everything from the moment you enter to the moment you leave is taken care of.

The hotel can boast of having a fine bakery too, presenting amazing cakes and breads. One can enjoy the ambience of the hotel for a nice cup of coffee or even for lunch/ dinner.

Annalakshmi Restaurant

Casual Dining – Cost for 2: Rs. 1000

Annalakshmi is a family favorite for get together because of the incredible food and amazing ambiance. This place is the one if you crave for well spread-out delicious vegetarian meals. The ambience compliments the wonderful flavours the place has to offer.

The decor and furnishing of the restaurant is made with beautiful idols, wooden carvings, Paintings, Photographs, Antique lamps, and bright golden color brings beautiful effect of divinity. If you are a vegetarian…….of course it’s a dreamland for you.

It’s located in the building next to Rani Meyyammai hall and while you park and make your way to the restaurant, you can hardly believe that one of the most raved-about restaurants in Chennai finds its home in this uptight corporate-like building! But things change quite dramatically as you step into the restaurant – the statue of goddess annalakshmi, the richly appointed decor of the place and the way you are welcomed gives you the first impression that you are in for a very good lunch experience

The array of dishes, even though simple; is quite exquisite in its taste. The south Indian variety definitely gives off vibes as being home cooked food. You have two options here – their famed Preeti Bhojan (or unlimited south Indian thaali) and their unlimited buffet. The sit down buffet is relatively more expensive as you will be served unlimited quantities at your table.

However the 10’o clock closing time can be a bit of problem for people who like to come in late and sit through a long dinner.
It’s advisable to have a reservation if you’re visiting during the weekends.

That might be according to your choice Mr Raja, these names are listed just because all the included names has gained higher ratings by the users/experienced! One person doesn’t like a particular thing, that doesn’t make something out of the list! May be some ppl considered them coz of one specific reason e.g ambience or price or service etc. If you have some other restaurants to suggest then you are most welcome, I will definitely love to include them too.

It’s very pathetic to see such a low quality caterer in the list of star hotels , there are many bojanams in Chennai, prems gramma bojanam is one among , this list is not that great it might be a marketing tool for any person….. Not sure
