Cycling Safety for Kids

A lot of children no longer cycle to school alone. This is mainly because parents are worried about traffic dangers. It is, therefore, necessary to teach our children about road safety. Do not stop your children from cycling to their school. They can still cycle safely.

One of the biggest concerns of parents is traffic danger. That is why they do not allow their children to walk and cycle to school.

Therefore, a lot of parents prefer to drive their children to school. In fact, 42% of children in primary schools are driven to school.

Once your children are confident and comfortable on their bikes, they can ride their bikes on the road. If they regularly ride on the road, they can develop in various ways.

They can feel they have gained more freedom in their life. They can also improve their fitness and confidence.

It is, however, essential to teach road safety to children to help them stay safe on the road.

Check the condition of the bike to make sure it is roadworthy.

If you are cycling with your children, you can ride your bike behind your children. If you are with another adult, one adult can ride in front of the children and another one at the back.

You need helmets for your young children. Even though it is up to you to decide whether to get helmets or not, it is much better to get helmets for your children.

It is even better to wear a helmet. If you wear a helmet, your children are more likely to wear their helmets. See here for more information on fitting a child’s helmet correctly.

Road Safety Rules for Children
