How to take care of frizzy hair

A proper hairstyle is very influencing, sometimes frizzy hair can ruin your entire look on certain special and important occasions, which no one would ever want.

Here are some tips that can help you manage your frizzy hair.

  • Limit the use of shampoo: To avoid frizzy hair on a daily basis, do not shampoo your hair daily or frequently. If not necessary use shampoo at a gap of two days. Sometimes just use a conditioner. And that brings me to my second point.
  • Use a conditioner: Conditioners are been looked upon as unnecessary. But in reality, you should be using conditioner whenever you shampoo your hair. And like I said sometimes use a conditioner without a shampoo. Gently massage your head with the conditioner and then rinse it off.
  • Choose a shampoo that is Sulfate-free: Using a sulfate-free shampoo is recommended not only to those facing problems of frizzy hair but to everyone; because sulfate packed products are harsh, they make your hair dull, rough and dry. And they also help to maintain hair’s natural oils.
  • Instead, look for a shampoo loaded with glycerin: Glycerin provides moisture to the hair and keeps it locked by forming a protective covering around the hair strands. It nourishes the scalp as well.
  • Hair oils: Do put oil in your hair once a week at least, especially coconut oil. And even after you have completely dried your hair after wash, put 1-2 drops of oil at the tips of your hair. Hair oils make your hair look glossy.
  • Obviously, use your hair styling tools less frequently: Tools like straightening and curling irons do damage your hair immensely. Try using them on fewer degrees or avoid using them when not necessary. Whenever styling your hair do remember to put some anti-heat spray/serums.
  • Avoid using hair dryers: After washing your hair try to let your hair dry in the air rather than using a blow dryer on them. The blow dryer again throws heat on your hair, taking away its luster and making it even more frizzy. But if necessary use a diffuser.
  • No towels: Do not use towels, instead use a cotton cloth; maybe a T-shirt. Towels have a rough texture and they tend to tangle your hair which once dried in that way would cause frizz. On the other hand, cotton is smooth on hair. Also, do not wrap your hair in a towel for long after a wash, they make your hair tangled, weak and messy.
  • Use a detangling comb: Use a detangling comb or a comb with wider teeth as we say. Combs which have close teeth tend to cause more fiction and hence frizzy hair. Also, comb your hair while it is wet; yes this might be opposite of what you might have heard before but actually it helps with frizzy hair.
  • Hair serums: Mild hair serum like Livon, that are cheap and easily available in the market should be added to your daily routine. This serum really helps in setting your hair in place and avoid frizz without even making your hair look oily or greasy.
  • Trim-Trim: Get your hair trimmed once every month. Trimming your hair would make you remove the split ends that make your hair look even fizzier and unequal from the bottom.
  • Hair spa: Add hair spa into your routine. Try going to a parlor for a hydrating hair spa once a month. And also avoid dying your hair frequently.
  • Hair mask: You can also add a natural hair mask recipe in your weekly hair care routine by mixing ingredients like banana, coconut oil, lemon, avocado, eggs, etc. A bunch of easy DIY recipes is available over the internet.
