Dresses that are a must-have for every woman

Trends may change but there are a few dresses that are a staple in our wardrobes. Here are a few dresses that every woman must own:

LBD

This is the most important dress. You can never really go wrong with an LBD (Little Black Dress). A classic black dress that fits you perfectly can be used for pretty much everything whether it’s a party, some social event or an evening out. It should be sexy yet elegant. You can team it up with a pair of high heels and matching clutch or some nice jewellery. You can even wear it with a cardigan or blazer. Find one that is comfortable and makes you look fabulous.

Casual summer dress

Whether it’s a floral print or a LWD (Little White Dress), a casual summer dress can be worn when you go shopping to a mall or for a luncheon. When it is blazing, you don’t really feel like dressing up or putting an effort in coordinating various outfits. A summer dress can come to your rescue as it is comfortable and will also make you look stylish. A simple white dress with embroidered lace is ideal for summers.

You should keep a dress in your closet for a special occasion like a dinner date or a movie. It should be something that fits you well, is very comfortable and makes you look elegant. You can team it up with heels or even a pair of flats. Opt for colours like turquoise and coral or something vibrant that complements your skin tone.

Interview dress

When you go for an interview especially a corporate kind of job, it’s a good idea to wear a formal dress. It should be conservative with its length not above the knees. And don’t wear something that is sleeveless or has a low/plunging neckline. You can look stylish without skin show. But this doesn’t mean that you should wear something plain or drab. Wear minimal jewellery like a silver necklace, ring or a bracelet. You can team it up with a pair of reasonably high-heels but avoid stilettos.

For your soirees, this is a great option. You can opt for an embellished dress or a plain one with bold colours and wear accessories along with it to glam up your look. You can choose a dress that has a hemline just above the knees or go for something shorter if you are comfortable. But don’t wear too many accessories if your dress is already embellished or has sequins.

Shirt dress

Shirt dresses are really in vogue this season and they are available in a variety of colours and prints for you to choose from. You can go for a checked shirt dress as that will give a casual chic look. Apart from something casual and chic, if you want to wear something that is trendy yet feminine then go for a flowy, white shirt dress that you can team up with a pair of thin strappy sandals.

Last but not the least; this is an essential item for your wardrobe. Choose a dress that makes you feel young.  You can experiment with various colours and patterns. Go for bold and vibrant shades. And most importantly, keep it classy!
